With the increasing number of the children in the Makoko Dream School 2 (The Makoko Dream Kingdom Royalty Academy), there was a growing need for transportation. In this school, there are now about 440 children, with about 200 of them from the Waterside. Conveying these children on “School bus” canoes to and from school in Makoko was not feasible. Aide Benjamin, the Community Development Head of The Makoko Dream and the Head Teacher of the Makoko Dream School, took on the challenge, and personally operated a large canoe that can carry more children.
The Makoko Dream School children Leadership Team led by the Head Boy, Master Benjamin Kisiegbeji and Supported by The Head Girl, Miss Rawa Faith and the Asst Head Girl, Tinuola Kisiegbeji, carried out a Give Back Makoko Outreach (GBMO) at the Milingual Petergo Nursery and Primary School, Makoko Waterside.
This was supervised by the PA to the Founder and Head Teacher, The Makoko Dream Schools, Mr. Aide Benjamin, and the Assistant Special Duties on Community Development, Mr. Kingsley Akoche.
This GBMO is targeted at instilling a giving mindset among the Makoko Dream School children, so that they grow up to become worthy ambassadors. There was an abundance of recent donations to the Makoko Dream School by various partners. Things such as books, pencils, erasers, Biros and water bottles etc., were given to other school children in Makoko who were in dire need of them.
